Why This Step Matters

Carrier appointments do not automatically disappear when you change teams.

Your ability to move may depend on things like:

• Whether you are moving from another FFL agency/team or from a different IMO
• How long you have been in your current hierarchy
• Whether you have written business recently
• Whether you have active downline production
• Whether you have carrier debt or outstanding balances
• The individual carrier's current transfer rules

There is not one universal release rule that applies to every carrier.

Step 1: Tell Us Where You Are Currently Contracted

Before anything is moved, make a list of the carriers you are currently or were recently contracted with.

Be ready to provide:

• Your previous IMO or FFL team
• The carriers you were contracted with
• Approximately when you contracted
• The last time you wrote business with each carrier, if known
• Whether you have any downline attached to your hierarchy
